Lot 63 – This rare Shelley tulip-handled lemon and blue Art Deco tea set is set to go under the hammer for between £850-£1700 on the Saturday of our September sale
The Potteries Auctions September Fine Art sale looks to be an interesting assortment of lots to attract every type of fine art buyer and antique collector. There has been a large market for furniture at auction over the last few months and there is a great selection of antique and reproduction furniture items going under the hammer next weekend, as well as a wide selection of rare 20th century British pottery, gold jewellery and more.
Our two-day auction spans over Saturday 12th September and Sunday 13th September, starting at 10am both days. Viewings can be arranged by appointment only between 9am-4pm on Thursday 10th September and 9am-7pm on Friday 11th September. On auction days there will be limited bidding in the room and is also by appointment only.

The focus on day one, Saturday 12th September, of our two-day auction will mainly be on rare pottery and porcelain items, including an excellent selection of great tea, coffee, and dinner ware by leading names such as Shelley, Wedgwood, Paragon and Aynsley, to name a few. We also have a range of brilliant pottery items available from Royal Doulton, Moorcroft, Martin Brothers, Coalport, Beswick and many, many more. Lot 1 – This Royal Albert Lady Carlyle dinner, tea and coffee set comprises of 2 trays, approximately 56 items, including plates, bowls, teacups and more, and has an estimated sale price of £200-£400
These large, rare Royal Doulton prototype character jugs are set to be incredibly popular at our September auction, with each jug modelled in the 1980s by William K Harper and sporting a not for resale back stamp. Both Lot 448, The Witch (left), and Lot 449, The Wizard (right), carry an individual estimate of £3000-£6000
Lot 589 (left) – A William Moorcroft Moonlit blue vase, estimated sale price £800-£1600. Lot 620 (centre) – A Moorcroft Prestige Lest we Forget vase, trial piece numbered edition 40, estimated to sell for £600-£1200. Lot 629 (right) – A Moorcroft Prestige Roof Top Paradise vase, number 21 of a special edition and signed by designer Paul Hilditch, with an estimate of £700-£1400 at our two-day-online auction this September
Lot 495 is a rare Beswick model of a boy on Skewbald pony. This charming piece has an estimated sale price of £800-£1600
Day two of our sale, Sunday 13th September, features our antique and reproduction furniture lots, as well as a large collection of clocks, from grandfather clocks to pocket watches.
We also have a large quantity of gold, silver, diamond set and costume jewellery available at our September online auction. Lot 810 is a mahogany Coates of Wigan Longcase clock is estimated to sell for between £250-£500 at our September auction, while Lot 822 – A 19th century floor standing Regulator clock – comes with a sale price of a staggering £1500-£3000
Lot 759 is a Regency Mahogany Cellarette Sarcophagus wine cooler that is in excellent condition, set to go under the hammer for £500-£1000. Lot 775 is a stunning 18th century Queen Anne Burr Walnut Chest on Chest, still with the original label in drawer. This piece is set to be highly sought after and comes with an estimated sale price of £1500-£3000
These 18ct gold diamond solitaire rings are set to be popular on the Sunday of our September sale, with Lot 1314 – left – estimated at £500-£1000 and Lot 1384 – right – estimated at £300-£600
