This Wedgwood pale blue Jasper portrait medallion of First Earl Richard Howe and solid blue Jasper portrait medallion of Fredrica Sophia Wilhelmina of Orange, complete in an Ormulo frame, are both estimated to go under the hammer for between £100-200 each. The Potteries Auctions November Fine Art sale is a two-day online auction taking place at 10am on Friday 13th November and Saturday 14th November. The Friday of our two-day auction is set to feature rare Royal Doulton Bunnykins figurines, character jugs including prototypes, animals, and Lambeth items by Hannah and Florence Barlow, Mark Marshall, Frank Butler, and Ada Dennis. They’ll also be an array of Flambe, Spanish ware and Series ware on offer, as well as rare Beswick horses, foals, animals and birds, Moorcroft pottery, and a particularly good collection of Royal Crown Derby.
The star of our Friday sale, however, is the large and important collection of Wedgwood included in our lots. This impressive collection contains over 300 pieces of Wedgwood, including many rare pieces like the Tony Pulford collection containing portrait plaques and Jasperware, and is sure to be incredibly popular among Wedgwood buyers and collectors.
These Wedgwood black basalt figures, one of an Olympiad figure from the 2012 London Olympics and one a bust of US President Dwight D Eisenhower, are both set to sell for £40 – £80 each.
Both this Wedgwood black dip Jasperware Dancing Hours Prestige bowl and Wedgwood Fairyland small octagonal bowl (Z5125) come with an estimate sale price of £150 – £300.
On the Saturday, we have an exciting collection of vintage comic books available, as well as railway memorabilia, metal ware, paintings and pictures, toys, clocks, furniture, lead soldiers, military items, silverware, and glassware to include Baccarat. The jewellery section of the sale will feature gold jewellery, coins, sovereigns, pocket watches, diamonds, and wristwatches by top name brands like Rolex, Omega and Rotary.
As always, they’ll be a wide range of 20th-century pottery lots on offer, featuring leading names and popular styles such as Minton, Royal Worcester, Lladro, Wade, Spode, Lise B Moorcroft, Alan Clarke, Border Fine Arts, Anita Harris, and Peggy Davies. There’s also some excellent dinner and tea service pieces featured, including Royal Albert, Shelley, Denby, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton.

We have a whole host of exciting vintage Marvel and DC comic book collections in this upcoming sale, as well as collections including modern independent comics and titles from publishers such as Image and Vertigo. Beswick horses always prove popular at auction, and these two shire horse models are predicted to be no exception. This rare Skewbald shire horse is estimated to sell for £1500 – £3000, while this early model of a black shire horse is set to go for £300 – £600.
This Royal Crown Derby Posies patterned extensive dinner service includes approximately 170 pieces, including tea, dinner, and coffee ware, and is estimated to go under the hammer for between £250 – £500 on the Saturday of our two-day auction.
We have a large range of Doulton Lambeth pieces upcoming in our November Fine Art sale, of which these two vases are definitely a highlight. The vase on the left is by Hannah Barlow while the right is a large exhibition vase by Florence Barlow, with both lots estimated to sell for £500 – £1000 each.
These two stunning Rolex wristwatches are set to fetch a pretty penny at auction this month. Lot 1233 (left) is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date mid-size wristwatch that’s estimated to sell for £1750 – £3000, while Lot 1234 (right) is a 18ct gold Rolex Cellini Gents wristwatch that comes with an estimated sale price of £2000 – £4000.
