These two stunning Rolex wristwatches proved to be incredibly popular at auction this month. Lot 1233 (left), a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date mid-size wristwatch, sold for £2100, while Lot 1234, a 18ct gold Rolex Cellini Gents wristwatch, sold for a great price of £2400.
Our Fine Art sale this month took place over Friday 13th and Saturday 14th November and featured an exciting array of items, from lamp bases and other household items to a very large assortment of rare pottery pieces, high end watches, and various collections of vintage comics too.

The star of this month’s auction was – by far – lot 1135, a Rare Art Deco c1930s Stardust Faturan Cherry Amber Bakelite lamp stand. Formed from a rare and desirable class of faturan with embedded gold ‘stardust’ particles, this beautiful piece (pictured right) sold for an absolutely astounding £21,000!
Also on offer this month was a large and eclectic range of vintage comic book collections, featuring Silver Age and Bronze Age comics from big name publishers such as Marvel and DC, and popular characters like the Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and more. Among these lots of comic books was also modern titles from publishers like Dark Horse, Image and Vertigo. These vintage collections of Silver Age Marvel comics, the one on the left of The Amazing Spider-Man and on the right a collection of Silver Surfer and The Mariner, proved to be incredibly popular. The Spider-Man collection fetched a hammer price of £1200, while the Silver Surfer and Mariner collection sold for a marvellous £1250!
As always, pottery was very popular at auction this month and we saw a large quantity of rare pottery pieces from famous names such as Beswick, Royal Doulton and Wedgwood pass through our saleroom and fetch some amazing prices. Check out some of the best performing lots below.
These rare Beswick horse models were highly sought after at auction, with the Skewbald shire horse on the left selling for £4400 and the white thoroughbred foal on the right selling for £1300.
This wonderful 18th-century Chinese Pomegranate Flambe vase and this small silver bowl, decorated by Michael Lloyd for his last exhibition for the Silver Jubilee, both sold for £3200 each at our November sale.
This large, limited edition Wedgwood Saxon blue Jasperware Portland vase with matching stand sold for a brilliant £1600, whilst this Royal Doulton large Prestige figure of St George, also limited edition, sold for a whopping £3100!
