Highlights from our January Online Auction

This limited edition Lorna Bailey Cream Egg The Cat figure was our top lot this month, well surpassing its £20-£40 estimate and finding a home for £300!

Our first auction of 2021 took place this month over Friday 8th and Saturday 9th January and featured an exciting array of items, from furniture and household items to a large assortment of rare pottery pieces and dinnerware, gold jewellery, and charming Art Deco pieces too.

Plenty of lots from our online auction live from the Silverdale Saleroom sold for a good price, so check out some of the highlights from our most recent auction below. Who knows? Maybe they’ll provide some inspiration if you have a valuation in mind.

The jewellery section of our sales always proves popular with our buyers, and this month was no exception. This yellow-coloured metal Victorian chain and locket (top) sold for £160, while this Hallmarked 9ct gold large locket with 9ct chain (bottom) sold for an impressive £260

A set of three French Art Deco face mask wall plaques

This pretty unique set of three French Art Deco face mask wall plaques, marked Paris and dated 1914, piqued plenty of interest and eventually sold for a wonderful £240

As always, we saw a large quantity of rare pottery pieces from famous names such as Beswick, Moorcroft and Royal Doulton pass through our saleroom, as well as plenty of highly sought-after dinnerware. Check out some of the best performing lots below.

Lot 239 was a Moorcroft Viola vase that attracted a hammer price of £160, Lot 242 was a Moorcroft Anna Lily vase that sold for £150, while Lot 246 was a Moorcroft Sissons Gallery Chislaine vase that attracted a final sale price of £180

It wasn’t just Moorcraft vases, however, that kept people bidding. Lot 170 was a lovely limited edition Moorcroft Pansy decorated Biscuit Barrel that sold for an impressive £170, and Lot 190 was a Moorcroft Au Lait Patterned Trio that went for a very respectable £150
