De Lamerie Fine Bone China & Glassware

Fareeha Ahmad

We sell De Lamerie China, Crystal and Silverware crafted in Stoke-on-Trent and loved by collectors worldwide.

To be featured in our November Fine Art auction, Lot 1070 is a fine set of four Samarkand pattern dinner plates, with an estimate of £80-£160.

De Lamerie Fine Bone China utilises designs and moulds by, or inspired by, the renowned English silversmith Paul De Lamerie (1688-1751).

The stunning and eye-catching designs displayed on their fine bone china, glassware and silverware is customarily heavily-gilded and richly detailed.

A fabulous array of De Lamerie glassware items will be featured, including this set of eight heavily-gilded Robert Adam pattern champagne flutes. Lot 1111 carries an estimate of £150-£300.

A fine silverware piece, this plated Robert Adam pattern large condiment will be featured, including Presentation bag. Lot 1094, estimate £100-£200.

In addition to the wide variety of in-house patterns and designs produced, a number of bespoke designs have also been commissioned by clients. One such commission, costing over £4,000,000, was a 100-place dinnerware set for the royal family of Dubai.

This lovely Lot of three Samarkand pattern trios will be featured. Lot 1065 is estimated at £80-£160.

Similar to modern-day De Lamerie China, the work of Paul De Lamerie himself attracted the attention of contemporary pre-eminent individuals: he enjoyed custom from such figures as Tsarinas Anna & Catherine, Sir Robert Walpole, the Earl of Thanet, and he also worked for a time for King John V of Portugal. A solid silver bathtub produced by Paul for the Portuguese Court was lost in the Great Lisbon earthquake of 1755.

Among the great selection of silverware pieces to be featured in our November Fine Art auction, there is this plated large Arabic Finjan coffee pot, displaying personalised decoration. Lot 1091 is estimated at £100-£200.

Complete with presentation bag, this large silverware plated incense burner goblet, featuring rose decoration, will be offered in our November Fine Art auction. Lot 1088, estimate £100-£200.

Paul De Lamerie initially worked in simpler Queen Anne styles, but is best-noted for his elaborate Rococo designs, as reflected in much of the glassware, silverware and fine bone china seen today.

Without doubt, De Lamerie Fine Bone China, with its distinctive and opulent features, attracts great interest from around the world and proves ever-popular at our auctions.
