The Potteries Auctions October auction is our first two-day sale following our new format, spanning over Friday 9th October and Saturday 10th October as opposed to the usual Saturday and Sunday – starting at 10am on both days. This means that our viewing days have also moved. Viewings can be arranged by appointment only on Wednesday 7th October and Thursday 8th October. On auction days there will be limited bidding in the room and is also by appointment only. Please call to book as places are strictly limited.
Masks are required for both viewing days and auction days, and there will be no viewing or collecting of items on auction days. For more information on the safety measures we currently have in place at our Silverdale saleroom please click here.

The Friday of our two-day auction will feature over 200 unreserved tray lots of good tea, coffee and dinnerware, ceramics, glassware, bric-a-brac, metal ware, mixed pottery and collector’s items including camera equipment, clocks, silver, coins and stamps. We’ll also have an array of gold and silver, watches, and jewellery including rings, necklaces, bangles, earrings and costume jewellery.
On the Saturday we have a large quantity of furniture available, including chests of drawers, coffers, cabinets, tables, chairs, display units, occasional tables, garden furniture, tools and ornaments, armchairs, settees and many other collectable household items such as mirrors, artwork, record players and speakers. We will also have some rifles and pistol lots available.
As always, they’ll be a wide range of 20th-century pottery lots on offer across both days, featuring leading names and popular styles such as Royal Albert Old Country Roses, Royal Doulton and Coalport figurines, Wedgwood, Moorcroft, Beswick, Royal Crown Derby, Bunnykins, Beatrix Potter and Kevin Francis & Peggy Davies.

Lot 274 – This Lorna Bailey set of 6 dogs that includes Doodles, Woof Woof, Bengo, Dozey, Steptoe and Dashy is estimated to sell for £100-£200 at auction
Lot 60 is a Wedgwood pale blue Jasperware urn and cover that was made to commemorate the 225th anniversary of the founding of the company. Lot 154 is a collection of Wedgwood jasperware portrait medallions, produced in association with the National Portrait Gallery London 1973, in a leather-bound display case. The urn is set to go under the hammer for £150-£300, while the medallions are estimated to sell for £300-£600.
Lot 304 is a 9ct gold gents Waltham pocket watch, together with a gold-plated similar item, that is set to sell for between £300-£600 at our October sale

Lot 505E – left – is a Victorian Walnut Secretaire Bookcase with glazed doors is estimated to sell for £100-£200. Lot 645 – right – is a Bang & Olufsen Sheraton Style Unit containing a Beocord 700, Beogram 7000 and Beomaster 7000, complete with 2 remotes, that comes with an estimate sale price of £200-£400
This Victorian Carved Mahogany 3-Piece Suite features a serpent decoration and a matching bedroom chair that is set to sell for between £200-£400 at our Silverdale saleroom
