Our April 2024 Antique & Collectors auction was a resounding success, offering a stunning range of items. Including a stellar selection of timepieces, here’s our top-performing lots:
A Pocketful of Time
An exquisite and ornate piece with a gold dial, this 18ct gold 19th century pocket watch with key exhibited a captivating allure and wound up to a hammer price of £820.
Half Hunter a Heavy Hitter
Resplendent with blue enamel dial, this 18ct gold ladies half hunter keyless fob watch was eagerly contested up to a hammer price of £920.
Waltham Watch Winds up to Half-Grand Hammer Price
Oozing with elegance and style, this 14ct gold American Waltham ladies keyless pocket watch & 14ct chain charmed bidders up to a hammer price of £500.
Twenties Timepiece with Modern Twist
An undeniably special wristwatch, this seamless blend of classic and modern reached the top step, achieving the highest hammer price of the sale. The gents 1920’s Patek Philippe dial and watch movement, re-housed in a bespoke modern gents watch case and including a high quality presentation case, topped out at an amazing £2,200!
Rolex Wristwatch Ticks all the Boxes
Fetching a hammer price of £500, this 1961 Rolex Tudor Oysterdate manual watch, with new leather strap & case, was well-deserving of its above-estimate result.
Eight Plates Rated Great
Ever eye-catching in its opulent splendour, De Lamerie continues to perform well in our sales. This set of 8 salad plates in the Cobalt Blue Robert Adam pattern was no exception, selling for £520.
Vintage Turntable Turns Heads
Demonstrating the demand for vintage hi-fi equipment, this stereogram setup attracted the attention of multiple bidders. Including a Garrard 401 turntable with an SME tonearm, Leak tuner & Tanberg reel to reel player, inside a period Mid-Century cabinet, along with a pair of Wharfedale Teesdale omnidirectional speakers, it sold for a fantastic £720.
Sideboard not Sidelined
The continued interest in Mid-Century furniture is evident in the deluge of bids this piece received: this Austinsuite large tambour-fronted longboy sideboard rocketed well past its estimate to sell for £620.
