British Ceramics, Jewellery & Collectables Auctions: October 2023 Preview

Read on to see our October 2023 preview of exciting ceramics, jewellery, military, toys, antique furniture and more items.

To be featured in our October Antique & Collectors auction, this extremely rare Royal Worcester classical figure, Lot 126, is estimated at £150-£300.

This month’s sales, at Silverdale and our Stoke-on-Trent saleroom in Cobridge, will be featuring a fantastic and diverse mixture of items for sale.

Friday 13th October

Our Friday auction at Silverdale will encompass a variety of pottery items for sale, among which will be many Royal Doulton pieces, comprising a good assortment of figures, a selection of character jugs, Bunnykins and more. There will also be a good amount of Beswick pieces, such as horses, animals, birds and Beatrix Potter examples.

One of many 9ct gold items of jewellery to be featured in our October Antique & Collectors auction is this slave bangle. Lot 775, estimate £290-£400.

Pottery and ceramics will further include a good range of Moorcroft, as well as a number of Shelley tea and tableware items, and some fabulous Royal Worcester pieces.

Additionally, a major portion of the sale encompasses a diverse and extensive array of jewellery, including bracelets, rings, necklaces & more. These will also incorporate a large number of 9ct gold pieces.

The first of three vehicles to be featured at midday at our October Antique & Collectors auction, Lot 300A is a Thwaites 1.5 ton Hi Tip dumper truck, estimated at £2,000-£5,000.

At midday, three lots in particular will be featured, comprising a Thwaites 1.5 ton Hi Tip dumper truck, a Caterpillar 1.5 ton digger/excavator, and a 2007 Nissan Micra 3-door hatchback.

One of the military items to be featured in our sales this month is this collection of WWII medals with paperwork. Lot 754, estimate £25-£50.

Sunday 15th October

At our saleroom in Stoke-on-Trent, the first of our two Cobridge auctions is filled with plenty of ceramics in the shape of Wedgwood, Moorcroft and a huge range of miscellaneous pottery, as well as tea & dinnerware items. A plethora of Royal Doulton figures will also be featured, accompanied by a sizeable amount of character jugs, a selection of Kevin Francis / Peggy Davies figures and a good assortment of Beswick animals, birds, horses and other items, including a choice of salt & pepper pots.

Among the range of tea and dinner sets to be featured in our October 15th Cobridge auction is this lovely Wedgwood Ulander pattern 16 piece tea set. Lot 475 is estimated at £50-£100.

Lot 270 in our October 15th Cobridge sale is this Royal Doulton small character jug Baden Powell D7144, with an estimate of £40-£80.

Pictures & paintings will also be offered, with various prints, watercolours, etchings and more to be featured. Added to this will be a number of furniture lots, several trays of Art Nouveau & similar earthenware tiles and a wonderful variety of toys that include vintage racing pond yachts, plus Matchbox, Lledo and other die cast vehicles.

The fantastic selection of toys to be offered in our October 15th Cobridge auction includes this large model racing pond yacht. Lot 326, estimate £35-£70.

Sunday 29th October

Lot 323 in our October 29th Cobridge auction is this pair of 20th Century Famille Rose crackle glazed vases, with an estimate of £40-£80.

The last sale in our October 2023 preview, our second Cobridge auction will feature a fantastic quantity of miscellaneous pottery & ceramics, including numerous lots of tea & dinnerware, and an array of Wedgwood, Shelley & Moorcroft pieces. Coalport figures and a huge number of Royal Doulton figures will be featured, too, with many flambé examples.

One of the many lots of Royal Doulton figures to be featured in our October 29th Cobridge sale, Lot 248 comprises Fairest of them All SW22 and Take the Apple SW30, estimated at £30-£60.

Items for sale also include a mixture of glass, metal ware and furniture, as well as a good amount of Beswick animals & birds, a selection of character jugs and a nice assortment of Beatrix Potter figures.
