Our May 2024 Antique & Collectors auction saw a gleaming collection of 9ct and 18ct gold jewellery, pottery and collectibles going under the hammer. Here’s our top 10 picks:

Demonstrating the collectible nature of signed pictures, this extensive collection of football-related photographs and signed original pictures struck home a winner, with a fantastic hammer price of £280.

Pulling no punches, this Duchess found herself winning the day, rising above all others to finish as the highest-selling lot of the sale. This Beswick Beatrix Potter BP2 ‘Duchess with Flowers’ figure was fought by bidders up to a hammer price of £520.

Collectible and valuable coins are consistently successful in our auctions, and this 1900 Queen Victoria full Sovereign was no exception. Reigning supreme, the hammer came down at £305.

Not content with one lot at the top, bidders clamoured over this pair of Beatrix Potter figures, with it securing second spot among the best-selling items. The boxed John Beswick pieces ‘Peter on his Book’ P4217 and ‘Two Gentleman Rabbits’ P4210 were hotly contested, blowing past their estimate to sell for £400.
