Coalport Porcelain Facts
- Coalport was the first English pottery to reproduce the famous “rose pompadour” for which a gold medal was awarded at the Great Exhibition, 1851.
- The porcelain factory established in 1795 was the first factory to be established in the Ironbridge Gorge. The original factory buildings today house the Coalport China Museum.
- The largest item to be produced by Coalport China was the Northumberland Vase, which can be found on display at the Coalport China Museum.
