Lorna Bailey Artware has often been described as the new Clarice Cliff. Lorna Bailey produced collectable pottery pieces from 1995 for over 20 years, with many early designs incorporating a series of cottages, trees and abstract patterns based on the designs of Clarice Cliff.
Taking inspiration from the Art Deco period, her works range from vases, jugs and sugar shakers to figures and decorative animals. Two of the most popular patterns are ‘House and Path’ and ‘Sunburst’, which were painted by Lorna Bailey and a small team of painters onto a range of shapes, including vases, jugs, teapots, sugar shakers, cruets, candlesticks and wall pockets. Lorna Bailey is arguably also most famous for her range of cat designs.
Potteries Auctions can identify and provide valuations on a wide range of Lorna Bailey pieces.
