W H Goss China Facts
- A pottery that made ornaments rather than functional ceramics, the firm is best known for its contribution to commemorative ware and souvenirs.
- Goss exhibited at the Great International Exhibition in 1862, gaining a medal for his display of parian ware – a marble-like unglazed porcelain used for sculptural pieces.
- Later Goss work, from the early 1880s onwards, saw them branching out into much cheaper and more mass-produced souvenir ware.
